Woodcock Johnson IV Tests of Oral Language

The Woodcock Johnson IV (WJ-IV) is a broad-scope assessment system that is based on state-of-the-science tests for individual evaluation of academic achievement, cognitive abilities, and oral language. The system is organized into three independent, complementary, and co-normed batteries: the Woodcock-Johnson IV Tests of Achievement (WJ-IV ACH), the Woodcock-Johnson IV Tests of Cognitive Abilities (WJ -IV COG), and the new Woodcock Johnson IV Tests of Oral Language (WJ-IV OL). The three batteries can be used independently or together in any combination. The WJ IV provides professionals with the most contemporary and comprehensive system for identification of patterns of strengths and weaknesses among important cognitive, language, and academic abilities.

DYSLEXIA EVALUATION $350

CCA offers affordable Dyslexia testing. Four assessments are utilized for diagnosis.

  • IQ -Kaufman Brief Intelligence Test (KBIT)
  • Achievement – Kaufman Test of Educational Achievement (KTEA)
  •  Comprehensive Test of Phonological Process (CTOPP 2)
  • Gray Oral Reading Test (GORT 5)

The Dyslexia battery is a very specific set of tests ONLY used to diagnose Dyslexia. This battery is not the same as the FIE, as it will not discern any other learning differences. Parents are strongly cautioned to read over the Dyslexia Awareness document and look for common signs and symptoms in their child before pursuing this testing. Basically, students with Dyslexia have average to above average IQs but have an issue with the alphabetic nature of our language, which can manifest in reading, writing, and spelling. Dyslexia is the most common type of learning difference as it affects 20% of people. If you believe your child is an ideal candidate for Dyslexia testing only, please contact the Director of Special Programs and be ready to provide evidence, such as any standardized testing to show ability.
